Ways Around The Bay is an interactive, route planner for cycling, walking and accessible trails in Morecambe Bay, created by Morecambe Bay Partnership. This tool is designed to offer and promote active and sustainable ways to get around the Bay withmore inclusive access to the countryside whatever your level of ability.
There are options for walks, hikes, cycle routes, e-bike routes, accessible routes and good routes for Trampers (All Terrain Mobility Scooters).

Some great routes around Morecambe Bay include:

  • Silverdale Station to Warton Crag circular walk- 7.5 miles
    Immerse yourself in this diverse and exciting route which encompasses Leighton Moss & Warton Crag nature reserves, the grounds of Leighton Hall and the Late Bronze Age hillfort, with some far-reaching views across Morecambe Bay.

  • Arnside Knott circular walk from rail station - 8 miles
    A varied trail through the best bits of the Arnside & Silverdale Natural Landscape. There is woodland, limestone paths, and coastal tracks, leading you over one of the Bay’s most spectacular viewpoints taking in Arnside Viaduct, the Lakeland Fells, Yorkshire Dales and the Kent Estuary. Much of the land you will walk across is looked after by the National Trust.

  • Humphrey Head walk from Kents Bank Station - 5.7 miles
    Walk around a distinctive limestone headland offering far reaching views across Morecambe Bay. Spot an abundance of unusual plants, geological features and estuary birdlife on the Nature Reserve.

  • Hoad Monument circular walk- 3 miles
    Enjoy a varied walk through the rural bustling market town of Ulverston with its rich cultural heritage. Take in the high view of Morecambe Bay from 'The Hoad', and the iconic landmark, the Sir John Barrow Monument built in the style of the famed Eddystone Lighthouse.
