The Cottage Museum
Lancaster's Cottage Museum is the smallest and most unusual museum in the city. Facing Lancaster Castle and just a short walk from the Judges Lodgings, the Cottage was built in 1739, making it one of Lancaster's oldest houses.
This wonderfully immersive museum provides an intimate glimpse of ordinary life in a tiny and intriguing 18th-century cottage, which is (you wouldn't know to look at it) spread over five floors.

Opening Hours
- 1pm – 4pm every Saturday, APRIL - SEPTEMBER ONLY
Accessibility
- There are a number of historic features within the Museum, which impede physical access for all. This includes small, tight staircases, dark areas, and uneven floors.
