Enjoy a Day in Morecambe
An early morning stroll along Morecambe Promenade cannot be beaten! The views across the bay to the Lakeland Hills beyond are spectacular: ever-changing throughout the days and the seasons. Don’t forget to look out for the artworks and installations of the TERN project, depicting the landmarks and wildlife of the bay – these original pieces can be found along the Prom, on the Stone Jetty and next to the Festival Market.
Step inside and browse the range of stalls inside the Festival Market, a covered market open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with two welcoming cafes serving homemade meals and cakes and a range of stalls offering clothes, gifts, homewares, food and books.
Then take a tour of the magnificent Morecambe Winter Gardens, a Grade II* listed building opened in 1897 as the Victoria Pavilion Concert Hall and Variety Theatre, and now undergoing a programme of refurbishment and open seasonally for events and tours.
Enjoy a luxurious Cream Tea at the Art Deco Midland Hotel – it’s such an elegant treat to enjoy delicious cakes and tea whilst drinking in the beautiful views from the Sun Terrace Restaurant! Or opt for a cocktail in the quirky décor of the Ravilious Rotunda Bar, its architectural chandelier and its colourful murals and booths lending a modern twist to the hotel’s 1930s origins.
In the evening, why not take in a show at The Platform, Morecambe’s music and entertainment venue?
