A Day of Shopping and Sightseeing in Lancaster and Morecambe

Lancaster is a vibrant and lively city surrounded with rich history and quirky culture. From wonderful walking tours to marvellous markets, there are plenty of sights to see, making it the perfect place for groups to head out on a day trip.

Start the day by wandering around one of the area’s three fabulous markets.

Lancaster’s Charter Market offers a delightful mix of street food, handmade crafts and unique gifts. It pops up in the heart of the city every Wednesday and Saturday from 9am to 4pm (4.30pm in the summer).

The Assembly Rooms Emporium, housed in a charming 18th Century building, is an Aladdin’s cave of vintage clothing, collectables and quirky gifts. It’s open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am-5.30pm.

Over in Morecambe, Festival Market is home to over 100 stalls, offering a range of fantastic products and a wonderfully warm welcome. It’s open Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 9am-4.30pm (October to March), 9am-5pm (April to September) and all Bank Holidays from Easter to August.
