The Bay International Film Festival (TBIFF) is an annual film festival with live cinema screenings and awards, running in Morecambe, North West England.
TBIFF aims to promote international and Northern independent films in the Lancashire and Cumbria areas as well as create a cultural dialogue between the audiences of North West England and the world. We want to inspire local audiences and international filmmakers with great films, thoughtful conversations, and joyful encounters.
In 2024 TBIFF will include: independent film screenings, 11 international short film programmes, Q&A sessions with film & TV guests, animation screening and workshop, experimental art house films, documentary films about women, Film forum "Women in Focus", Red Carpet Awards Ceremony, film networking events, community film clubs and 3 exhibitions.
"Stories Beyond Borders" is one of the major focuses of the festival. It is international short film competition to select and award the best visually captivating and thought-provoking short films from around the world. We are especially interested in submissions from filmmakers who have an ambition of making a social impact, bringing awareness of old and new problems in society and making an attempt to inspire audiences for thoughts and changes.
This year we're incorporating a new Morecambe Film and Television Festival. The MFTF is a celebration of the film & TV industry and its ongoing developments. It hosts a curated programme including premieres, retrospectives and industry and public events. the highlight of the programme will be the preview of the first episode 5 season of series The Bay.
