CAS bring us an evening celebrating Samhain, an ancient Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter.
CAS are a Celtic music ensemble blending traditional Irish music with contemporary arrangements and original compositions. Featuring fiddle, flute, bouzouki, keyboards and bodhrán, the band delivers dynamic live performances shaped by extensive international touring experience.
Following the launch of their debut album, Tonnta na Maidine (meaning Morning Waves), in Ireland and France, and a successful tour of the North West in July, CAS return to celebrate this ancient Celtic festival with an evening gig at The Gregson, followed by a morning music workshop for fiddle, flute and whistle. All abilities are welcome!
About CAS
CAS features Sébastien Luthers (fiddle and whistles), Carol Scott (flute and whistles) and Nico Contamine (keyboards and percussion). The musicians have toured extensively, both individually and collectively, performing on the main stage at the Fleadh, at the Bealtaine Fire Festival on the sacred Hill of Uisneach, and at the legendary Cobblestone in Dublin.
Their album Tonnta na Maidine features 12 tracks, including compositions by Leitrim's Joe Liddy and original works by all the band members. It was recorded and produced by Nico Contamine at his studio in Auvergne.
