Promenade Concert Orchestra perform Music From The Films

For 20 years, the Promenade Concert Orchestra has been bringing the sound of a full-size live orchestra to Morecambe — and that is something genuinely special for our town. As a registered charity, the orchestra exists not just to perform music, but to keep live orchestral music accessible, welcoming and alive in the heart of the community. Every concert is made possible by dedicated musicians, volunteers, supporters and audience members who believe that Morecambe deserves high-quality live music by the sea.

This year, as the orchestra celebrates its 20th anniversary, we would love to welcome both familiar faces and people who have never been to an orchestral concert before. If you love film music, beautiful melodies, classic entertainment, or simply the feeling of being part of something uplifting and local, this is a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

The next concert, Music from the Films, takes place at The Platform, Morecambe, on Sunday 17 May 2026.
Doors open from 2pm, with the concert beginning at 3pm. There is something quite magical about hearing music from the big screen performed live by a full orchestra. You do not need to be a classical music expert. You do not need to know every piece. You simply need to come along, sit back, and enjoy the sound, atmosphere and shared experience.
