Contemporary Folk artist and songwriter Lewis Barfoot makes her Lancaster debut at the Gregson Centre. She is a seasoned performer with an angelic voice and a flair for storytelling, Lewis blends contemporary folk with traditional influences, creating music that is both intimate and mythically resonant. Her live shows are known for their warmth, sincerity, and luminous quality that invites audiences into a deeply felt experience.
Her performances are intimate, heartfelt and uplifting — spaces where song, story and presence meet.
Lewis has been performing under the folk umbrella for over a decade, with two full-length studio albums to her name: Glenaphuca (2021) and HOME (2023), both of which received strong support from across BBC Radio, RTÉ Radio 1, Folk Radio UK and RTÉ na Gaeltachta.
Currently, Lewis is developing a new EP of old folk songs called The Old Bog Road and she is also expanding her sound into jazz and blues. In 2024, she formed the Lewis Barfoot Jazz Quintet, making their debut at the 2024 Cork Jazz Festival.
Lewis is also running a Folk Singing workshop earlier in the day from 11-1pm.
