Join us for a day of free activities, taster sessions and community connections at the Gregson Centre.

With more than 3,500 events taking place here every year, there's always something new to discover. Meet some of the 80 community groups that call the Gregson home, try a new activity, share your ideas, and explore one of Lancaster's most vibrant community hubs.

Whether you're looking to get active, get creative, meet new people or simply find out what's happening in your local community, there's something for everyone.

10am – 12pm | Community Coffee Morning
Pop in for a free tea or coffee. Bring a friend, meet a neighbour, and find out more about what's happening in your community over a good brew.

10am – 12pm | Ideas Lab
What could the Gregson do differently? What's missing? What would you like to see here?
Join this community conversation, facilitated by a Gregson Trustee, and help shape the future of the Gregson.

Café Bar Open All Day
Need a break between activities?
Enjoy homemade cakes from Talk About Tasty, comfort food from Toast, Atkinsons coffee, and award-winning local ales in our three-time CAMRA award-winning café bar.

10am – 1pm | Crafting for a Cause
Meet a community of passionate crafters using their skills to support humanitarian projects around the world and find out more about their regular sessions.

12pm – 4pm | Queer by Gum Community Conversations
Visit the Queer by Gum Studio and meet Lancaster's grassroots LGBTQ+ creative collective.
Discover their craft clubs, book groups, social events, ceilidhs and more, and find out how to get involved.

12.30pm – 2.30pm | Needle Felting Taster
Join resident needle felter Lin and create your own felt keyring.
Drop in at any time, although you'll probably want around an hour to complete your masterpiece. Be warned – felting can be highly addictive!

1pm – 1.45pm | Capoeira Angola Taster
Experience this fascinating Afro-Brazilian art form combining movement, music and martial arts with Andrea from Capoeira Angola OGUM.

1pm – 5pm | Gaming in the Secret Cinema
Did you know the Gregson has a Secret Cinema?
Usually home to film groups and private screenings, today it's open for community gaming sessions.

2pm – 2.45pm | Northern Soul Taster
Join Anthony, who also teaches Salsa and Hustle at the Gregson, for a lively introduction to Northern Soul dancing.
No experience required.

2pm – 3pm | Zine Making Taster
Discover Lancaster's zine library and learn how to create your own mini-magazine.
A perfect introduction to the world of independent publishing and creative self-expression.

3pm – 3.45pm | Circus and Juggling Taster
The Gregson's weekly circus group presents a fun, hands-on juggling workshop.
Try a new skill and meet the team behind Red Rose Circus. All abilities welcome.

4pm – 4.45pm | Kundalini with Katy
Experience a taster session of Kundalini yoga featuring meditative movement, breathwork and mantra.
Suitable for all, with adaptations available for different abilities.
