Assembly Arts are proud to be exhibiting "EDEN: Personal Responses to Eden Morecambe by the Assembly Photographic Collective". Comprising of images produced by members of Assembly Arts, the exhibition includes a diverse range of photographs exploring the impact of Eden Morecambe. Subjects examined embrace issues pertaining to the ecology of Morecambe Bay, environmental and social forces and the influence of the new development on local economies.

The first show of its kind, the exhibition coincides with the launch of the ongoing photographic project undertaken by the Assembly Photographic Collective recording the evolution of Eden Morecambe and its legacy over the next 10 years. With over thirty members the Assembly Photographic Collective provides a supportive, inclusive and collaborative space in which photographers in the Lancaster and Morecambe region are able share their practice.

The focus is on photography that embraces social, cultural, experimental and alternative techniques, catering to a diverse range of perspectives on work. Underpinned by an ethos embracing a kind and respectful attitude, the Assembly Photographic Collective shares knowledge and experiences pertaining to photographic practice, including exploring mutually agreed topics and techniques. Members have opportunities to expand and promote their practice including through such activities as group exhibitions, photographic field trips and events.

The Collective is open to new members at all times and welcomes any enquiries about the group. In addition to exhibitions in its ground floor gallery, based in Lancaster's historic Assembly Rooms, Assembly Arts offers a range of creative classes throughout the year including photography, life drawing, ceramics and screen printing.

Assembly Arts is home to ten independent artists in its studios and hosts regular events and talks exploring aspects of contemporary practice. Resources include a publicly accessible darkroom, kiln and screen printing facilities along with a dedicated Art Room and photographic studio.
