Throughout the year, a group of local artists create varied art works using a multitude of mediums and techniques, from watercolour, acrylic and mixed media to Lino prints, sketches and cards (created from the artwork).
Taking part in a weekly group offers more than just a creative outlet. It's a chance to nurture mental, emotional and social well-being especially for a rural community. Working alongside others fosters connection and belonging, easing isolation and building friendships. Making art helps quiet the mind, ease stress and promote relaxation through gentle focus and self-expression.
It's wonderful to meet with friends have a chat but there is something truly special about the moment when a hush of concentration settles across the room. In that stillness, you can almost see the magic of art at work.
It isn't only the artists who benefit from the "Wellbeing". The annual art exhibition also supports mental wellbeing for those who come to see the artwork on display. Simply spending time, looking at artwork, slowing down, absorbing colour, texture and techniques which evokes imagination and emotions.
Visitors often say they leave feeling inspired, soothed, or energised, and we love that our creativity can have that positive effect.
So come along enjoy the art, refreshments on offer and the beautiful village of Clapham.
