Broken Chords - a musical story of life, love and connection. When Stuart and Kirstie lost their son without warning, they turned to music - not to explain what happened, but to survive it. Picking up guitars, they began writing songs as a way to keep breathing, keep talking, keep going. What followed was a quiet rebellion: against silence, shame and the idea that grief is something you do alone or are meant to “get over.”
Broken Chords tells their story in their words and music - a story of love, loss, absurdity and the fragile hope of connection. But it’s not just their story. It speaks to human experiences we so often struggle to talk about: grief, love, misunderstanding, resilience and finding a way through.
Broken Chords is performed in a relaxed, welcoming cabaret style setting. Audiences have described an evening at Broken Chords as moving, surprising, funny, hopeful and deeply human.
The show is directed by former Dukes theatre Artistic Director Joe Sumsion.
