A Splendid Day Out presents Pirates of Mermaid Bay

This year’s A Splendid Day Out brings a swashbuckling twist to Morecambe’s much-loved steampunk weekend, with the 2026 theme “Pirates of Mermaid Bay” transforming the seaside into a fantastical world of buccaneers, sea creatures and Victoriana. Running from 5–7 June across venues including The Platform and the Midland Hotel, the free daytime festival offers a lively mix of artisan markets, live music, themed displays and family-friendly entertainment, all set against the backdrop of Morecambe’s promenade. Visitors can expect roaming performers, competitions, and even live mermaids, alongside plenty of opportunities to dress up and fully embrace the playful, imaginative spirit of the event.
