Cinderbarrow Miniature Railway
This fantastic little railway running round the picnic site at Cinderbarrow, near Yealand Redmayne, is open to the public for rides on Sundays and bank holidays throughout the summer.
Built by a group of enthusiastic model engineers, there is a large Gauge One (45mm gauge) demonstration track, running full length passenger and freight trains, plus a ‘Playmobil’ railway on the grass for younger visitors who can control the engines themselves!
Most of the engines are owned by individual members and the Society also has a powerful diesel model, “Tregoss”, which is used at the site. Members from other Model Societies are welcome to bring along their engines.
As a charity there is no charge for rides, but donations are appreciated to keep the railway running.
Come along and enjoy the thrill of riding on a real steam or diesel train, or bring a picnic with you and spend the afternoon in a beautiful woodland setting!
