Carnforth Heritage Visitor Centre is closed for refurbishment until March 1st 2026.
The Refreshment Room is open (except first week of February), 9am-4pm daily.

Carnforth Station has been lovingly restored and now houses an award-winning Heritage Centre and unique conference venue. The extensive heritage centre tells not only the story of the making of the film, but delves into the history and heritage of Carnforth, its workers and its families.
Carnforth Station is the famous setting for David Lean's film Brief Encounter. Come and stop for a coffee and cake in the recreated Brief Encounter Bistro and Bar: see refreshmentroom.com for opening times.
