Lakeland Wildlife Oasis, Near Milnthorpe
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis is a unique and exciting blend of exotic wildlife and interactive hands-on displays, which take you through 3,000 million years of evolution and follow the development of life on Earth - from magic molecules to mischievous monkeys.
Exhibits range from curassow to computers, from fossils to fossas and include some of the world's most threatened species, including 2 snow leopards which are kept here as part of international breeding programmes.
This is an all-weather attraction. Our tropical hall and butterfly house are ideal venues for those wet days.

Facilities
- Sorry, we don't allow dogs. As we have free ranging animals, even small well-behaved dogs are not permitted in the zoo, but are welcome in the picnic area. Dogs left outside can be visited as frequently as owners wish.
Accessibility
- The centre is all on one level, with wheelchair access throughout and a good view from a seated position into most exhibits. As there are naturalistic compacted paths through most of the outside area, surface breakup can occur - creating loose gravel which may make pushing heavy chairs difficult. There are a number of benches inside and out and easy access to café and toilet facilities.
