RSPB Leighton Moss, Silverdale
Come and discover some very special wildlife at RSPB Leighton Moss and Morecambe Bay. This popular nature reserve is home to a variety of wonderful creatures from birds and bugs to bats and otters. If you are lucky, you may even spot our largest resident, the red deer.
Children can have great fun discovering nature by taking part in seasonal activity quizzes or turning detective with our Wildlife Explorer Backpacks, available all year round. During school holidays, a range of special family events are held for all ages.
There's plenty to do at Leighton Moss - explore nature trails, take a stroll around our sensory garden, treat yourself in our gift shop and enjoy a homemade meal in our award-winning cafe.
Opening Hours
- Nature Reserve and Hides open dawn-dusk
- Visitor Centre and Cafe open 9.30am - 5pm (see website for seasonal opening hours)

Facilities
- Toilets, including an accessible toilet, are available on the ground floor of the Visitor Centre.
Accessibility
- There is an accessible Tramper route. Flat and undulating trails. The lower trail has a gate at one end.
- Dogs are allowed in the Visitor Centre and on the dog-friendly trail. Assistance dogs are welcome in all parts of the reserve.
