Lancaster Spirits Co. is an exciting new whisky distillery, built and commissioned in 2024 alongside Lancaster Brewery.

After many years of planning and delays, the ambition to produce Lancaster’s first-ever single malt whisky became a reality. The whisky is crafted using the same ingredients, equipment and expertise that have helped Lancaster Brewery create its award-winning ales.

Single Malt made by Brewers

A truly craft distillery, Lancaster Spirits Co. utilises wash from the brewery to produce small-batch, flavour-forward single malt whisky.

Every drop of whisky begins in the brewery using traditional, manual processes that are rarely seen in modern whisky production. Barley is freshly milled, mashed by hand and fermented using the brewery’s own live brewer’s yeast. Every stage of the production process is driven by a commitment to flavour development and craftsmanship.

The first-ever Lancashire single malt whisky is set to launch in Autumn 2027.

Lancaster Spirits Co. prides itself on producing all its spirits from grain to glass, including its gins and vodkas.

Its range includes award-winning artisanal gins such as Firecracker Gin, Raspberry & Rose Gin and Mandarin & Ginger Gin, all produced under one roof using traditional, hands-on methods. Equally distinctive is the collection of premium craft vodkas, created using a combination of English grains including wheat, barley and rye. These full-bodied, rich and complex spirits are produced in exceptionally small batches.

Visit the distillery and enjoy its range of tours and tasting experiences – a five-star attraction according to TripAdvisor. Visitors can take a behind-the-scenes look at the daily workings of both the distillery and brewery, sample craft gin and vodka, and discover the story behind Lancaster’s first single malt whisky.
