Sand, sea, slides and splash parks
Morecambe Bay is all about traditional family entertainment,
so come and explore its sandy beaches, family-friendly parks and panoramic
promenade.
Take a trip to Morecambe Beach, a stretch of golden sand perfect
for dipping your toes into the sea or creating a sandcastle masterpiece. Stroll
along to Half Moon Bay at Heysham and find a sandy cove for a secret picnic
before exploring the Viking ruins at Heysham Village. Silverdale Cove is also a
great place for exploring hidden paths, caves and rock pools.
Morecambe’s most well-known park is of course, Happy Mount
Park, with its Splash Park, playgrounds for all ages, swing boats, mini golf,
brass band concerts and lots more. But did you know that Regent Park also has
two fantastic play areas – one for toddlers and one for older children – and is
planning even more exciting facilities including a ‘Yalp Toro’ interactive
football pitch?
There are lots of play areas along the promenade for little
ones, from the fun water features at the West End Gardens playground to the
crazy designs of the play area near the Clocktower and Eric Morecambe statue.
Near Morecambe Sailing Club you’ll find play equipment with a nautical theme –
perfect for a quick stop during a lovely seaside stroll.
Then round off the day with the most traditional of all
seaside pleasures – a scoop of soft vanilla ice-cream, overlooking the bay!
