A Heritage City and Coastal Wildlife

Discover a heritage city and the wildlife of the coast.

The first stop is the Judges Lodgings, an elegant Grade 1 building dating back nearly 400 years. Your group can explore stunning period rooms, beautiful Georgian furniture and take a trip down memory lane with the Museum of Childhood.

The Judges Lodgings are open to the public March-Nov (Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun) but tour groups can be accommodated throughout the year. To find out more, head to the Group Travel page.

The next stop is Lancaster Priory Church. Standing overlooking the city, the Priory was first founded in 1094 and has 13 centuries of history. As one of the most frequently visited parish churches in the North West, it is of huge historical and archeological importance and well-respected throughout Lancashire and beyond.

Group tours for up to 10 people can be booked Monday-Saturday.

Enjoy the afternoon at Leighton Moss, home to the largest reed bed in the North West. Providing shelter to a spectacular range of wildlife such as otters, bearded tits, march harriers, egrets and red deer, it’s the perfect place for your group to enjoy sitting back in the tranquility of nature.

Group entry rates depend on whether participants are RSPB members (who receive free entry). Guided walks and talks for groups are available. For more information, visit the Group Travel page.
