A Day of Shopping and Heritage in Morecambe Bay
Enjoy a day of shopping and heritage in Morecambe Bay!
Begin the day at Morecambe Festival Market, where bargains await at this bustling market by the sea.
Open Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday plus Bank Holidays Easter to August, there is a convenient coach drop-off point just outside and there are plenty of places either within the market or nearby along the seafront for a tasty lunch after a bit of retail therapy!
Then head to Carnforth Station to delve into the history of the town. Famous for being the setting for David Lean’s film Brief Encounter, the station houses an award-winning Heritage Centre, teaching more about the making of the film and telling the story of Carnforth, its workers and its families.
There is also the Brief Encounter Bistro and Bar, the perfect place to enjoy a spot of lunch or a coffee and cake.
Open daily March to mid-December 10am - 4pm
Finish at the much-loved family home of Leighton Hall. With almost 800 years of history to discover, your group can learn all about the hall and its changing appearance before taking a stroll through the gardens, wandering the woodland walk or enjoying the famous collection of Gillow furniture and objects d’art.
There are various tours available for groups, as well as Dual Day Out packages for a full day out.
